NUREMBERG, Germany, February 2, 2010 – Open-Xchange will offer its e-mail and groupware in cooperation with hardware manufacturer Pyramid as pre-configured and ready-to-run appliances for up to either 50 users or 300.
The new hardware appliances come with Open-Xchange Appliance Edition software, which includes an e-mail and collaboration server, document management, backup/recovery, virus and spam protection, plus Linux operating system.
It can be used to replace Microsoft Exchange installations with support for applications that rely on Active Directory, or the LDAP directory. Also, the two directory technologies can be used in parallel.
Open-Xchange hardware appliances are offered in the following two configurations:

2 GB of RAM
500 GB SATA hard drive
RAID system optional
Price includes software license for 10 users: $2,775

Price includes software license for 25 users: $7,387.50
